Landon Stuart’s Eagle Project

At the Hermann Park Conservancy, there is a generously sized community garden that holds many crops that the people working there tend. They grow these plants so they can donate the harvestable produce to people who are in need of food and that may not be able to get fresh fruits or vegetables elsewhere.

My project is to restore the physical garden beds which have been slowly aging and decomposing over the years. I am looking to fix three of the planter boxes. The cost for each planter box is $1200 and the total amount I am looking to raise is $3600. I need this money to be able to afford the restorations. Please donate to help a friend in scouting give back to the community that taught him to do so.

Training

In order for adults to go on Troop campouts, they must be fully trained. Training includes online Youth Protection and "This Is Scouting" training, Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Specific training (3 segments), and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS). Training is offered by Golden Arrow District and other districts in the Sam Houston Area Council.

Online training is also available for adults interested in a Troop Committee position.

Do you have a career, skill, hobby, or interest that would make you a great Merit Badge Counselor? Becoming one is easy -- attend a 1-1/2 hour general training course, and then apply to be a counselor for the badges you feel qualified to lead. Training is offered by Golden Arrow District.

All interested adults are encouraged to complete the requisite training. Links to MyScouting (online training) and the SHAC and Twin Bayou training schedules are below -- find the dates that work best for you!
